Back by popular demand is more information on how I meal prep, but this time I will include details on the essentials needed to successfully meal prep. Let’s be honest here. Making breakfast, lunch, and dinner for an entire week can sound pretty difficult and time-consuming, when in fact it actually is not. Having the necessary kitchen tools for meal prep days can make your life so much easier.

Just so that I don’t overload you on meal prep information, I have separated my favorite meal prep essentials into 2 categories: Meal Prep Essentials for Food Prep and Meal Prep Food Storage. HAPPY READING!

When I prepare my foods for the week, I usually make more than one thing at a time. It’s just easier for me to get it all out of the way so I only have to clean my kitchen once (when I’m done of course). In order to prepare multiple meals and food items at the same time, I need a variety of kitchen tools to make it possible.

Ideally, I use my oven, slow cooker, Instant Pot, and Ninja Professional Blenders (or the parts of the Kitchen System). This allows me to set my slow cooker with my meal of choice and prep other foods at the same time. You have to multitask to make this process more efficient!

Speaking of multitasking, this skill helps me prepare multiple recipes at the same time. If I’m going to meal prep, it only makes sense to get as much done as possible all at once. It may sound like a bit much, but it makes meal planning for busy weeks so much more manageable.

I have put together my go-to items when it comes to meal prep essentials. Here are a few of my favorite tools. Take a look!

Ninja Kitchen System

This set comes with a blender to make smoothies (I love my Ninja Professional Blender!), a food processor, and a host of other items. A great multipurpose item to get the job done.

Instant Pot

Perfect for stews and meals that you can leave to cook while preparing something else.

Cast Iron Skillet

This is a great item for cooking because it can go straight for the stove-top to the oven with ease and no damage. A great tool to make a quiche!

Cast Iron Grill Pan

No you can get those great grill marks without a backyard grill. Just like its rounded bottomed sibling, this pan can go from the stove-top to the oven with ease.

Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoons

This set comes with magnetic measuring spoons so you will never misplace that super small spoon again!

Glass Mixing Bowls

Not only are glass mixing bowls microwaveable, but they are also dishwasher safe. Who wants to hand-wash all those dishes when you are finished meal prepping anyway?

J.A. Henckels Knives

This set is excellent J.A. Henckels Classic Chef's Knives are high on the scale of heft, shape, and performance. A splurge-worthy chef's knife but comes at a much nicer price point. It's a quintessential, all-purpose set that does an ace job of blitzing parsley into dust, dicing onions, or deboning a chicken.

Ceramic Knives

I know what you are thinking. Why do I need more knives? Due to their sharpness, ceramic knives are excellent for thinly slicing meat, vegetables, fruit, and even bread. Ceramic knives are also easy to clean, don't absorb odors, and they're lighter than their steel counterparts. I highly recommend the Kyocera knife set. Buying a Kyocera knife is like buying for life, and its name alone has become synonymous with high quality. As you probably know, chips in ceramic knives cannot be repaired. However, Kyocera knives come with a Lifetime Warranty, so if your knife is damaged, Kyocera will either sharpen it or replace the item.

Cutting Boards

A must-have for cutting all those different foods you will need to prep. This set makes cleaning up a breeze with.

Muffin Tin

This is great item for prepping breakfast muffins or dinner biscuits. They also help you portion out your meals with ease.

Casserole Dish

When it comes to casserole dishes, I prefer the Pyrex easy grab. Whether you are making a light meal or a heavy one, the easy-grip handles make it easier to carry your carefully prepped meals from the oven to the countertop.

Okay. This one is completely optional. You may not want to invest in a dishwasher just to meal prep, but it can save you a lot of time when mass meal prepping so that you can focus on preparing the foods and not cleaning all the dishes you just used.
